Join WYOBIRD July 20th at Grand Teton National Park
Join Wyoming Bird Initiative for Resilience and Diversity (WYOBIRD) students & faculty at the UW-NPS Research Station in Grand Teton National Park for a day of tours, activities, and talks about birds across the Americas!
Come join us for a fun day of learning about birds, research, and more! First 50 people get a free Birds of Wyoming book!
Bird Tours
Graduate students will lead birding walks suitable for beginner through advanced birders, covering subjects such as beginner ID or identifying species by song! Multiple tours between 8 – 10am
Crafts and Educational Activities
Join in our activities about bird nests, research methods, bird art, birds to look for in your backyard, and more! Even visit an active field site studying pollination and seed dispersal. Fun for all ages! 10am – 2pm
Picnic lunch
Join us for a free picnic lunch provided by the research station. Suggested donation of $10. 12pm – 2pm
Research Talks
Hear about research being conducted on birds across Wyoming and in the tropics by students and faculty. Virtually experience the sounds of a tropical rain forest! 2pm – 4pm

The Wyoming Bird Initiative for Resilience and Diversity is a program at the University of Wyoming which strives to advance knowledge, appreciation, and conservation of birds by conducting avian research, training and supporting the next generation of scientists, and connecting with communities through public outreach. Enter Grand Teton National Park and proceed north past Colter Bay. Turn into Leek’s Marina. Immediately as you enter the Leek’s Marina parking area, turn right at the UW-NPS Research Station sign and follow the road one mile to the station.
