COVID-19 Statement

COVID-19 Statement: 2022 Season

We care about the safety of the researchers and our staff and are collaborating with NPS on a Covid-19 response plan for our housing and station events for the 2022 season.

We are certain to have a significant reduction in the number of people we are able to host on our campus at any given time this season.  We will do our best to have the UW-NPS Covid plan set as soon as possible so you can settle your research needs. However, we ask that you plan for backup housing in the event that we aren’t able to host you this season.

We will announce our Covid response plan and mitigation efforts as soon as we can.  We will keep this page updated as we get new information, so check back here again later, or join our mailing list to get the updates emailed to you as they are announced.

Thank you for your understanding in these challenging times.

February 15, 2022 Update

UW-NPS is working with the parks to determine what the Covid policies will be. We will post them here when we know more. Though not yet final, the National Park Service best practices suggest the following will be likely outcomes:

  • Vaccinations required
  • Masks required indoors (except when in assigned rooms, bathrooms, or scheduled kitchen time)
  • Social distancing
  • Pods/Cohorts
  • Separate kitchen and showers for each pod whenever possible
  • Schedules for shared kitchens and communal showers
  • Quarantine housing
  • Rapid tests
